I like to play decks that answer situations, rather than creating them. I have been playing Magic for nearly 10 years now, so I know what kind of deck I like to play. Today I have been thinking about building a new deck, but instead of building it with a commander in mind, I would build it based on a specific strategy / philosophy, then pick a commander later on. I'm slowly learning about the specifics of this format and I'm having tons of fun. If most of your Dredge cards get rfg'd and you still have recyclable dudes, this would be something to maybe consider for those types of scenarios?Īlso you could consider running Violent Ultimatum? It's a huge bomb but it would be up to your judgment if it takes away too much from your strategy.Hello dear friends, I'm a modern player that started to play EDH this year. He's "okay" but if you need more non-token alternatives, he's worth considering.ĭragon Appeasement is pretty costly but could provide some nice card advantage? While I was going to say that you're already not drawing cards by dredging, dredge actually requires you to draw a card to trigger, so skipping your draw step would be bad news.

Scarland Thrinax is another potential sac outlet, depending on how desperate you are for them. He's a pretty big dude and odds are he'll connect because of the trample. I would highly recommend putting Charnelhoard Wurm. I would also suggest Yawgmoth's Will as maybe a last resort? I know the exile effect counteracts what you want your deck to be all about, but if you can go off by recasting half your graveyard, then why not? Just a thought. He needs some form of protection because for his cost:body ratio, it's going to suck having to recast him a ton. Potentially you could equip, swing with something, sac/do whatever you do and then reequip to your general. The boots are probably your best bet since they also provide haste and you're mainly a creature based deck. I would consider Lighting Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Champion's Helm or Mask of Acacyn. If not to mess up someone's topdeck, but to fuel your own graveyard with a sac outlet. There's already a Sek'Kuar decklist up here. I'm still light on the red department, but I'd like to keep this theme of the graveyard as a giant resource.Īny oversights you guys could point out would be awesome, and any and all constructive critiques are welcomeĮDIT: Seems I've made a Faux Pas. I love Dredge and Saccing for profit, (this deck started life as a Jarad Deck) But I wanted to delve into 3 colour decks and using red. I put this deck together as an experiment. Phage, the untouchable (surprisingly resilient) Though my main play group ends up being about 6 people. Everything from "can I use my pauper EDH to play with your guys?" to $2000 foiled out super decks. Please note, this is a first draft and I plan on testing it heavily.
